Cardium Oil in the Garrington Field
This oil well had been on a batch program, 900 Liters of condensate blend per month down the casing, since being put on line in April 2011 until it waxed off in May 2013. Tundra’s Automated Batch system was then implemented and is now batching down the capillary into the tubing where the paraffin is forming. They had lost over 7000 bbls of production over 10 months due to paraffin build up in the tubing which is approximately $265,000 in lost revenue using a $38 netback. The well is now back on its normal decline.
Alterations
At the start of 2016 wax chemical was removed from the condensate blend and now runs straight condensate.
Tundra Petroleum is pleased to have worked with Pengrowth to turn this problem well into a stable and consistent producing well. We are thankful for their commitment to cost effective production and their belief in our systems and capabilities.

This is a graph of the minimum and maximum peak rod load data for the well. Note in August 2012 the rod load min and max peaks started to converge grossly until the well waxed off in May 2013. Now with our ABS installed, the well and pipeline is clean of wax and the rod loads have diverged again.
"There’s nothing spectacular about it, The well is doing what was expected of it and showing a natural decline in production, but the key is there is very little downtime.
The well with the automated batch system runs trouble free and we honestly forget it’s there sometimes." ~Pengrowth Field Supervisor
